Meeting Dates
Lecture meetings are held at 5.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month from 5.30 to 7.00pm as a forum for lectures, talks and presentations and everyone is welcome to attend.
Business meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month from 5.30 to 7.00pm.
Activities
- Specialised research - for Society members and the general public
- Historic tours - walk and bus tours highlighting the rich history of Maitland and district
- Sale of publications - CDs, DVDs, postcards, photos both Society productions and others on consignment / commission
- Oral history program - a systematic recording of the experiences of local people to complement written and recorded history
- Displays and exhibitions - will aim at educating and informing the community as well as highlighting the rich history and heritage of Maitland
- Lectures - a planned program of lectures where guest speakers are invited to present an address on relevant and topical subjects
- Workshops - to explore and research specific areas using both the Society's members and associated groups
