Meeting Dates
Lecture meetings are held at 5.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) from 5.30 to 7.00pm as a forum for lectures, talks and presentations and everyone is welcome to attend.
Business meetings are held on the third Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September,and November from 5.30 to 7.00pm.
Society rooms are open from 11am - 3pm on Wednesday and Saturday for research.
Activities
- Specialised research - for Society members and the general public
- Historic tours - walk and bus tours highlighting the rich history of Maitland and district
- Sale of publications - CDs, DVDs, postcards, photos both Society productions and others on consignment / commission
- Oral history program - a systematic recording of the experiences of local people to complement written and recorded history
- Displays and exhibitions - will aim at educating and informing the community as well as highlighting the rich history and heritage of Maitland
- Lectures - a planned program of lectures where guest speakers are invited to present an address on relevant and topical subjects
- Workshops - to explore and research specific areas using both the Society's members and associated groups
