Activities
The Fort is open 6 days a week, (closed Tuesday) from 10am to 4pm. Admission and self-guided tours to the top area (excluding tunnels) of the Fort is free.
Tunnel Tours
All Tunnel tours must be guided and incur a fee as set out below in the Fee Information. Guided Tours (full site and/or tunnels) are conducted by Society volunteer guides from 10.30 am through out the day with the last tour starting at 2:30pm.
Fort Kiosk
The kiosk is run by the Society volunteers and sells ice creams, chips and drinks. We also have souvenirs for sale.
Firing the 'Big Guns'
The big guns are fired on important days such as:
- Australia Day weekend
- Anzac Day
- June long weekend (anniversary of the shelling of Newcastle on 8th June at 2.17 am 1942)
- October long weekend / Mattara
